Tapio Kinnunen's strongest areas of technological expertise are software-based innovations. These include, among others, telecommunications technology, artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, industrial internet, and automation systems. These technology areas are familiar to him for the protection of new innovations, products, and services.
Tapio has become a qualified patent professional by working as an in-house patent engineer in a global industrial company and by passing the Finnish patent attorney examination. Before joining Kolster in October 2019, he worked with product development and patenting in the electrical and automation industry. His experience in the protection decisions, IPR strategies and IPR portfolio management in a global industrial company has given him the ability to view patenting from the business perspective, when working with his clients.
